Who is This ? February 6
And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way. And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? Matthew 21:8-10
Oh we know and believe that Jesus is the son of God, sent into the world to be our savior. But have you thought about just who this man is. The apostles had been with Jesus for quite a while when one day on the Sea of Galilee, a storm arose, that threatened their lives. They awaken Jesus who had been sound asleep. He stands up and with a confident voice, says, peace, be still and immediately the storm settled to a peaceful calm. Then the apostles were afraid, and said one to another, what kind of man is this? They knew Him but oh the things they didn’t know about Him. So it is with us, we do know Him but oh the things we don’t know about Him. I suppose this is what we will be doing for much of eternity, getting to fully know Him and our Heavenly Father. Just consider: all things were made by Jesus Christ, He was in the beginning with God, by Him all things hold together, one of the last views we have of Him, He was shining like the sun in its strength. This Christ of God, with all His majesty and might, became the humble lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. No one expected that. I imagine there will be much we see, learn and experience of Christ in heaven that we didn’t expect or even think how great and wonderful He truly is. Time will tell of all the glory and majesty of the Father and His Son. Let’s just make sure we are there to see for ourselves, it will surely be worth it all.
