Time to suit up. Pt 3 June 5
For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the good news, so that you will be Fully prepared. Ephesians 6:15 NLT
Each day, especially in these days we need to be covered in the protection God makes available. The belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness and every soldier or worker needs a good pair of shoes. Dena ask me sometimes, why are you sitting around in the house with your shoes on. My reply: never know what you have to be ready for. I’m kinda half kidding with her when I say that. But there is certainly a lot of truth in that statement especially in our Christian race. I like feeling prepared and ready. In older days, enemies would place hidden, sharp, pointed sticks in the ground so that the approaching army as they marched forward would step on these and be rendered useless or even unable to march forward. In these days , soldiers shoes often had plates of brass here and their to protect them from harm. This for us today is saying have a strengthened, strong, prepared heart, to enable us to stay close to The gospel message of our savior. Be prepared for whatever we must go through, not by having a good pair of boots. But by believing and trusting the promises of God. Put them on your life as you would a good pair of shoes and then go forth confidently with your savior leading the way to victory ahead. In these times a pair of flip flops is not going to do. We need the truth of God, firmly in our lives. May God strengthen you today.
