Time of visitation. December 14

And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation. Luke 19:44

Scripture makes it clear, there are special times, God visits. Remember the angels telling Abraham, we will go down to Sodom and see if it’s as sinful as we have heard. Numerous times God visited certain individuals like Gideon. As he was hiding and threshing wheat an angel set over against and oak tree and watched Gideon before he declared Gods will for Gideon. How about as the time drew near for the Christ to be born. God first appeared to Zacharias and told him he would have a son and to name him John. He would be the forerunner of Christ. Then of course the Christmas story beginning with God appearing to Mary with a promise that she would bring forth a son who would be the savior. Then there’s Paul the apostle, on his way to Damascus to persecute Christians and suddenly the Lord Jesus appeared and totally changed his direction. And it goes on, even to today there are just times God comes to a man, woman, boy or girl with the offer of salvation or a special call to do his will or an offer of just a little closer walk with Him. In our scripture Jesus said; they didn’t realize the time of their visitation so destruction would come upon them. Oh let’s not miss our special opportunities with God, whatever they may be. Let’s say yes Lord I’ll take it. This has to be more than just words but also an availing ourselves to Gods offer of closeness. Remember He has said I’m coming again and has commanded us to be ready, by staying in fellowship with the Lord Jesus. Let’s not miss that great visitation day. Lets be ready!!!
