“And being fully persuaded, that what He had promised, He was able also to perform.“
How could Abraham endure 20 years of waiting for the promise of God to come to pass? God had given him a promise that his seed would become a mighty nation, that would be so numerous that it would be impossible to number them. Abraham said ... OkI’m the man You’ve been looking for! Abraham had to be so excited at that time. Thinking, God Almighty has chosen me! Then year after year passed and not one child. You might think Abraham would just give up on the idea. But he did not, he was strong in faith, and this gave glory to God. He wasn’t perfect, he did try to help God out at times. But he never quit believing the promise. You and I who Have fled this world and it’s sin and have taken hold of Christ and His promises will likewise as Abraham go thru times we don’t understand. Things will take longer than expected. They will not look like they’re going to work out at all. What should we do? Just be like Abraham, keep believing the promises of God. I believe there’s more than one promise in the Bible for every need we face. Find it , cling to it , set your hopes upon it. Some promises are universal but sometimes God has one just for you. Through study of His Word and times of prayer you can discover what God has for you. At times Abraham became a little discouraged. Then God would appear to him again and encourage him along the way, renewing His promises to him. If today you are a little bewildered by events, spend some time with God. Get alone with Him and I’m sure He will meet with you and encourage us today.
“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passers all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
