Three P’s. June 27

And being fully persuaded that what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

Romans 4:21

The Bible has built in aids to our communion and meditation upon God. Did you know that in certain psalms each verse begins with the next letter of the Hebrew alphabet. God wants us to think upon his own word and ways throughout our days. Our verse today contains three P’s that if thought upon will encourage us in our Christian walk. The First is Persuaded which means: being fully convinced to believe or do something. In this passage Abraham had been told by God to leave his country and Go to where God would direct him. He also told Abraham and Sarah his wife that there descendants would be as numerous as the sand of the sea and the stars of the sky, or in our language so numerous they cannot be counted. Abraham in his heart was persuaded or convinced that God would do What he had told him he would do. God has spoken to you and I, also, thru the Bible and the Holy Spirit within us. He says that if we repent of our sin and seek forgiveness in Jesus name we shall be forgiven and receive eternal life. I know I am persuaded this is true. By his word and the witness of the spirit in my heart. The rest of the definition of persuaded is to cause one to believe or do after a sustained effort. Oh how faithful God has been thru the years to help us. Don’t give up now. We don’t always get what we want or feel like we need Instantly, neither did Abraham. It was years before some of the promises God gave him even began to come to pass. But he remained persuaded God is faithful. Today it is impossible to count his descendants, the Jewish people, who have for thousands of years been spread all over the world. You believe Gods word and he will surely bring it to pass. To be continued....
