Things went Well. October 13

And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well. 2 Chronicles 12:12

When You talk to people today you usually hear something like; I’m praying things go better. For most of us this is what we would like to see in our nation. When I read our verse, I thought how refreshing when it says “in Judah things went well”. Things had not been going well for them or the king so it must have been a very encouraging time for them to see things turn for the good. It wasn’t just by chance that things went well. The king himself, humbled himself before God. This means he repented of his sins and pride and prayed to The Lord for his help. Acknowledging in word and deed that the Lord is God. Then God caused things to go well. We’re not sure how things are going to go in our world in the next few weeks or months but in the following verses we have a promise:

“To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:” Romans 2:7-10

May God grant to his church, his people that Things go well!!!
