There is your treasure. February 16.

In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble. Proverbs 15:6

In 1923 a group of the worlds most famous financiers gathered at the Edgewater beach hotel in Chicago. The meeting was an impressive display of wealth and power. Seated at a single table were the president of the worlds largest independent steel company, the president of the largest utility company, a great wheat speculator, the president of the New York stock exchange, a member of the cabinet of the president of the United States, the president of the bank of international settlements, the man who was known as the biggest trader on Wall Street, and another who headed the worlds most powerful monopoly. Together these men controlled more wealth than the United States treasury. Their success stories were lauded as the model to follow. They were the industrial and financial giants of America. They were envied by millions. Today their stories are complete. Today we can view the final chapters of their lives.

Charles Schwab , president of the steel company, lived the last years of his life on borrowed money and died penniless. Arthur Cutten, greatest of the wheat speculators, died abroad insolvent. Richard Whitney, president of the New York stock exchange, served a term in a Singapore penitentiary. Albert Paul, the cabinet member, was pardoned from prison so he could die at home. Jesse Livermore, the bear of Wall Street, Leon Frazier, president of the bank of international settlements and Ivan Krueger, head of the worlds largest monopoly all committed suicide. I wonder how mankind is so quick to remember the seeming success of wealth, power and riches. And so quick to forget the end of those ways without God. Today, lay up for yourself treasures in heaven with God, that cannot be taken from you.
