There came a man. November 29
When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel. Nehemiah 2:10
God had placed it in the heart of Nehemiah to leave a place of comfort in the king of Babylons court and to go back to Jerusalem. At this time Jerusalem lie in ruins, even the wall around the city had been knocked down and left in piles of rubble. However God was ready for Jerusalem to be rebuilt, so He sent Nehemiah to help. The enemies of Gods people, in the area did not like this. They fought against this man who was sent to help the people. This sure explains why Jesus was so ill treated, while He was here upon the earth. He was sent from God to help all people to know God and be saved. So the devil fought him but just as Nehemiah prevailed so did our Jesus with the ultimate Victory. Now God has also placed us in His church to be a help to one another. as we pray for each other and fulfill whatever task God has us to do, we also are a little like Nehemiah and Jesus, men and women called to bring glory to God and help one another. We to will face adversity but we have so many biblical examples of both men and women who overcame and fulfilled Gods purpose for them. Let’s go and do likewise with the help of the Almighty God.
