Then shall we know. June 24
Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the lord; his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth. Hosea 6:3
Corrie Ten Boon was a famous Christian woman, who with her family helped many Jews escape the holocaust. Her and her family were eventually caught and placed in concentration camps. She wrote a famous book called “The Hiding place”. Recounting her families efforts and how she found hope in God during her imprisonment. She later traveled the world, preaching and telling her story. She would often tell her story as she weaved a tapestry. The crowd seeing the bottom side of tangled mess and thread. By the end, she would turn it to where the crowd could see the beautiful side. And would speak on we don’t always see what God is doing but he is working something beautiful in the lives of believers. She wrote a poem , as a matter of fact the only poem I know by heart. I’ll leave it with you today. It is entitled “The Weaver”.
My my life is but a weaving between my Lord and me. I cannot change the colors for he works most steadily.
The dark threads are as needful in the skillful weavers hands. As the Golden threads of sunshine he has patterned in his plan.
Oft times he weaves the sorrow and In foolish pride, forget he sees the upper and I the underside.
Not it until the loom is silent and the shuttle cease to fly, will God role back the canvas and explain the reason why.
