The will of God. April 29

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

1 John 2:17

Very odd isn’t it, that many inhabitants of the earth are wrestling, striving, even fighting for position and things in this world. Like it will be forever. While God teaches over and over the things here pass away. Mans glory is like a flower it is here one day and fades away the next. We all need to here this from time to time including me. One day all that’s here will be gone. So that are hope, Joy, peace , dreams won’t be here. But as the rest of our verse declares: he that does the will of God will live forever. Certainly it is Gods will for every person to repent of sins and accept Jesus as our savior and lord, looking unto his life, death and resurrection for our salvation. Then follow Gods word as it is revealed throughout the Bible, especially for us:the New Testament- Mathew thru Revelations.

There is also, Gods personal will for our lives. In Jesus teaching on how to pray he said lead us not into temptations but deliver us from evil or lead us not out of your will in any way. As a Christian we don’t just do what looks right or even what feels right. We don’t just pick up and move on a whim, we don’t purchase or sell that way either. In all we do we pray, asking Gods counsel, seeking his direction and lo and behold he will surely give it to us. As he does we just simply abide in him, he even will give the strength if we will give the willingness and obedience. Now , there is a wonderful reward for living this life in Gods will. It is what the Bible calls the inheritance of the saints. Paul prayed that the believers would know what is the riches of our inheritance. Oh what God has prepared for those who love him. Like scriptures says “as a bride prepared for her husband” and it will never fade. So truly today let’s do our best here, to joyously follow God and if we’ve made mistakes along the way , thanks be to God there is his forgiveness on this journey (1 John 1:9) . Our heavenly inheritance awaits for us.
