The Lord is there. June 7

“The distance all around will be 18,000 cubits. “And the name of the city from that time on will be: the Lord is there. ” Ezekiel 48:35

This is the last verse in Ezekiel. Oh the trouble Israel had seen because of their sins. Even Jerusalem had been destroyed along with the temple. As you read Ezekiel it is not easy reading. It contains much doom and gloom. But finally in the last few chapters, God begins to restore them and Jerusalem, including the Temple, which was the dwelling place of God. Much detail is given to the rebuilding instructions. Then finally the Lord says, the name of the city shall then be called: The Lord is there. Surely this is a reference to that final city, the new Jerusalem, our final dwelling place for eternity. Won’t it be nice, no seeking, no worrying or fretting. Just look up and there He will be. Our leader forever!!!
