The door of Faith. October 2
And when they were come and gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles. Acts 14:27
For a very long time the door of faith had primarily only been open to the Jews. But when Jesus came and was preached to the Jews and many of them believed not. Just as scripture had predicted, God turned the message to the Gentiles (non Jews) all over the world. The imagery used of God opening a door and the good news rushing thru to the Gentiles is interesting. It makes us realize before one can believe, God must open the door of faith. This is why we must pray for those we know who need to turn their lives to Jesus and be saved. Thru our prayers, witness and Gods great grace, suddenly someone who’s heart has been closed can be opened and their lives forever changed. It also lets us realize a person doesn’t just come into the kingdom when they choose or like we have heard people say I’ll come when I’m ready. No; we must come when God opens the door of faith. When he moves upon our hearts. Let’s be praying for the door to open wide to those around us and we may just be surprised who walks thru the door.
