The Abundance of all things. September 5
Because thou serveth not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart. For the abundance of all things. Deuteronomy 28:47
Have you ever thought of all the abundance in nature. At times there’s more water than streams and rivers can carry away. More grass than we can keep mowed. This time a year you can sit and hear acorns begin to fall. It makes you think, oh God how great you are. You satisfy all your creatures with abundance. Today the most precious of all Gods creatures is mankind, you and me. And oh the abundance he has given. Food, clothing, drink, people and just so many things in our lives. Praise God. You know what he wants us to do with all this? Serve him with gladness. We use all these things to love him honor him and fulfill is will. And we can do it with a joyful heart, giving thanks to our Father and His Son for the abundance of all these things. Someone has said God has given us two books, the Bible and what we see in nature. If what we see in nature is so abundant, how about our spiritual life and supply? Certainly it is also abundantly supplied for. We know where to go for our breakfast. We also know where to go for our spiritual needs and that is Jesus our savior. In him is abundance of all we need. Read 2 Peter 1:3 according as his divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him, that has called us to Glory and virtue. Take a little time to think about all the abundance God has given to us. Thank him! Then let’s serve him today, with gladness.
