Springs of living water. April 24
Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it,that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. Exodus 17:6
Today, Christian brother and sister don’t forget you drink from the springs of living water, that shall never run dry. Jesus said in John 7, if your thirsty come to me and drink. He that believeth ( trust ) on me. Out of his belly (inner being), shall flow rivers of living water. Of course Jesus was not speaking about physical water, but he was speaking about spiritual refreshing, from the Holy Spirit, within us. The Holy Spirit is as a continual, running, refreshing, life giving, spring of living water, for our lives, both inward and with outward blessings for us. Notice it is living water, he provides what we need for this hour. It wouldn’t be good if we just had a pool of water, it would surely grow stale and old. Praise God we have a spring of living water. That comes from heaven, meets the needs we have, even as they change from one time to the next.
Now as God refreshes you and he surely will, as we abide in him, let’s not hoard this up or build a dam for our own selves. It is sure to go stale. But share it, give it. Serve and help with what God is blessing you with. I once read use whatever is multiplying in your hand for Gods honor. This will change as need arises around you. But whatever your given, whether it is ability, or substance, use for God. Many think oh what if I run out. This is not remembering what we have been given: a spring of living water that will never run dry. As we use the refreshing God gives us to help others we will most surely witness The miracle: hey I just used my refreshing for God and lo and behold my well has Miraculously filled back up. Praise God for the springs of living water. Let’s end with this quote I find to be a blessing to me. Truly think on this today: “No spring ever yielded such sweet water, as the well of God that was dug with the soldiers spear”. Praise our lord Jesus.
