Sit Here. October 16

The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. Psalm 110:1

This passage of scripture is found at least 5 times in scripture, appearing in both the old and New Testament. King David by the Spirit first wrote these words around 1000 years before Christ appeared. Jesus himself uses this passage in Mathew chapter 22 to prove to the pharisees that the Messiah would not be David’s son but his Lord. A wonderful picture is found in this passage and it is the Father, saying to his Son, Jesus our Lord, Sit here beside me. This means Christs work is complete and He now sits at Gods right hand. Enjoying his victory. And watching the results and accomplishments of his triumph being worked in the peoples of the world,(you and I included) mainly the salvation of many. The Father also says sit here until I put all enemies under your feet. The enemies of Christianity, decency and of God himself sometimes seem to gain ground. But believer, know this they will one day soon be put down forever under Christ. Then the righteous will go forth rejoicing in the complete victory Christ has won over all evil. Today keep your faith in Christ Jesus who is our representative in heaven and wait together with him, expectantly until that great day. God bless you today.
