Persistent in prayer. June 16
That men ought always to pray and not faint. Luke 18:1
Scriptures say that men’s hearts will fail them in the last days, because of the troubles, fears and turmoil around them. But this prediction is not for the Christian. For us it is different. I can certainly see how easy it would be for hearts to fail, if they are placed on the stock market, government or anything else of this world. Yet for the Christian, while we live and work in this world, it is not our hope. Our hope is much higher and much surer, for our hope is in the Lord, what he will be to us here and what he has for us in eternity. This hope remains steady and sure, thru it all. I encourage you to keep your thoughts on these things throughout your day. So as we continue to pray, hope and believe, as our lord Jesus has told us to. Our hearts can actually be at peace and even grow stronger each day as we trust and meditate on God and his word. Listen to what the writer of Psalm 112:7-8 says about a righteous person He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid , until he see his desire upon his enemies.
May God Strengthen our hearts today.
