Perfect peace. February 11

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength: Isaiah 26:3-4

Perfect Peace. Doesn’t that sound good. When we hear or think about perfect peace, we usually think about, heaven. And this is certainly true. Heaven is going to be an eternal time of perfect peace. I can’t wait. Well according to God’s word, we don’t have to wait until heaven to have, perfect peace. We can have whole and complete peace with God as we keep our hearts and minds upon Him in a trusting relationship. This is probably not what most of us have experienced. We often are worried or troubled over one thing or another. We have in mind, perfect peace, being no problems or troubles of any kind. While in heaven this will be true. It is not the case on earth. Even at this, Gods promise of peace on earth stands. It is when we trust Him completely in all things. If you think about it, we can do this. It will come by abiding in Him With our thoughts and actions. Many of us try everyday not to do anything unpleasing Before the Lord. Thank God for this desire. Yet we will let our thoughts, run all over. Remember, God promises perfect peace to those who’s minds are upon God. Peter in the New Testament, puts it this way, Gird up the loins of your mind. In biblical days men often wore robes and when it was time to work, they would tie these up around their waist , to keep them from being a hindrance. Peter uses this to encourage the believers to do this with their minds. In other words Peter was saying, quit worrying and fretting. Put all these things in Gods hands, both good and bad, simply, trust in the Lord. Hasn’t He proven to us that He is worthy of this trust. He sure has. Don’t forget that God is truly, full of love towards his children and is working for our good in all circumstances, so let’s set our minds today upon Him in trust. And we will find, peace has come upon us. May the Lord of all heaven and earth bless us today!!
