Our strength November 30
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10
the joy of the Lord is your strength.....The declaration of Gods word, accompanied by a sincere desire to follow its instruction, will result in a true, heartfelt joy. This “joy of the Lord” is based on reconciliation with God and the presence of the Spirit in our lives. It is maintained by the assurance that we have been forgiven in Christ and restored to fellowship with God, and that we now live in harmony with his will. Such joy acts (1) as a fortress to guard us from the troubles and temptations of each day and (2) as the power and motivation to persevere in faith until the end. Excerpted from the life in the Spirit bible notes.
May Gods joy be with us today and everyday!
