Not so great. September 20

There was a preacher who came to America to preach. His first language was not English. So when the pastor introduced him as a model preacher he didn’t quite understand. When he later got back to his room he looked up the definition of model, it said, “ a small imitation of the real thing”. The pastor had also said he was a warm person. He didn’t understand this either so he looked up the definition of warm, it said, “not so hot”. So he thought, I’m a small imitation of the real thing that’s not so hot. This is a funny story, but you know it’s not to bad if we can be a small imitation of Jesus and even he wasn’t to hot as far as his outward appearance. Isaiah says about Jesus in the 53 chapter and verse 2: For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground: he hath no form or comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

Jesus greatness was not outward appearance but inward holiness. Seems today we spend more and put more account on the outward than on the inward. So this Sunday lets spend some time with God focusing on our inward relationship with him. And by the way if your a small imitation of the real thing that’s not so hot. God loves us even the more.
