None like that one. July 27

And David said unto Ahimelech, And is there not here under thine hand spear or sword? For I have neither brought my sword nor my weapon with me, because the kings business required haste. And the priest said, the sword of Goliath the philistine, whom thou slewest in the valley of Elah, behold, it is here wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod: if thou wilt take that, take it: for there is no other save that here. And David said, There is none like that; give it me. 1 Samuel 21:8-9

While Davis was on the run, he looked for a weapon. The priest said, there’s only one here, it is the sword you took from Goliath. David said, give it to me, there’s no sword like that one. You know the word of God is called in scripture the sword of the spirit. Today, there is no weapon like this one, The word of God. Physical weapons like Goliaths sword have there place. But remember as a Christian your enemies are primarily spiritual. This is why Gods word says of itself that it is the sword of the spirit. Gods word is a weapon to be used in our inward battles, the battle of faith. I imagine David, since he was a man of war, felt much better after he put that sword on his side. I know as a Christian we feel and do much better when we’re living in Gods word, reading, thinking on, doing and trusting what God has said. It brings a confidence to our lives. Some passages are general in nature but some speak directly to us and our needs. And when God does speak to us. We as David can say there is no word like his word. Scripture is full of precious promises like the one I leave you with today : And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Psalm 50:15
