No Fear. January 13. Pt. 2
Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:6-7
Paul tells Timothy that as the children of God, He doesn’t want us to live life afraid. If we find ourselves growing fearful and worried. We should immediately pause, think; what is doing this to me? And I guarantee you whatever it is there is a word in scripture to counter that fear. Not only is there words and promises in Gods Holy word but there is also the Spirit that He gives us to overcome it. As a matter of fact God says I give you the Spirit of Power. Receive it today it’s power to live, love, be at peace, enjoy serving God, it’s power to pray and see help come. It’s power to overcome any obstacle. Lest we get too arrogant in this power, which power can cause arrogance and unconcern for others, God adds a spirit of love also, that we remain tender and compassionate to those around us. Then He says, I give you a sound mind. Of course in today’s environment this is being challenged, have you noticed that most of what God gives us , will be challenged. So don’t be surprised by this. Take God at his word, I have a sound decision making mind, this day. Part of this sound mind is to stay away from things that trouble us. Avoid these things, limit there access to us. Sure God gives us power, love and a sound mind but we must keep engaged with the Lord and His word and then these these things rise to the top of our lives. It’s ours, receive it and walk in the assurance of His peace and joy. God bless us today.
