Lord Willing. August 4
For that ye ought to say, if the lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. James 4:15
If there is one thing we’ve learned in these last few months and if your like me there is more than one. But one thing for sure is that we’re not real sure what may come with a day or a week or even a month. This is why James encouraged the believers, don’t get to sure of your plans. As we have seen they can be changed in a hurry. Countless plans have been cancelled, delayed, modified and changed over the last few months. Things we thought were sure, that we thought were a necessity, gone just that quick. This highlights our dependence on God. Just as James said “if the Lord wills, we will”. If you follow the early church in the book of acts it was a fluid situation, always changing. Some times the church had rest and sometimes it had persecution. At one point most all the believers had to flee Jerusalem. To many this was home and they now were refugee. But as they went they preached and witnessed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And it spread all over the world. We like things to stay the same , I know I do. But it’s not always that way. Instead of letting that be worrisome we need to remember the promise of God. “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. Oh praise God for such a promise. In all these changes he is with us. We can be excited as we look for him to work and show his way. So plan, work, pray and do all these things but always remember to add Lord if you will.
