Know your owner. February 2

Hear me, you heavens! Listen, earth! For the Lord has spoken: “I reared children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against me. The ox knows its master, the donkey its owner’s manger, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand. ” Isaiah 1:2-3

Isaiah received messages from God and shared them with Gods people. This first one, makes you think. God had been good to His people , He likened it to He had nourished them as a Mother or Father would a child. But those children had rebelled against Him and His ways. Then God says, Even an ox knows their owner and a donkey knows which stall belongs to Him. But His people did not know to dwell with Him. God has certainly nourished each of us. He has cared for us spiritually, physically, financially, emotionally, relationally and so many other ways. We should know to live in Him. Outside of him is darkness and trouble. No matter what this world may offer you. A child of God knows his masters voice and we also know the voice of the tempter. If at anytime we get confused as to which is bidding us, we look into the Bible and it will let us know our masters voice. Let’s not only believe God, this is a wonderful thing to do but let’s know God. This knowing God comes from time spent in quality prayer and reading, by being obedient to his voice. Also we know God by just abiding with Him throughout our morning, day and evening. As even an ox knows where to go after a long days work may we go to our God this day and remain in Him.
