Indeed. November 18.
And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world. John 4:42
The Samaritan woman Jesus spoke to at the well, ran and told the people in town, I have found a Man who told me all I have ever done. Isn’t this the Christ? They all come out to the well and after hearing him speak, ask him to stay a while. And Jesus stayed for 2 days. This was not an area that was known for holiness as a matter of fact the Jews considered it an unclean area. But thank God Jesus stayed a while, teaching the words of life. Listen to verses 41 and 42.
And many more believed because of his own word; And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world. John 4:41-42
What happened in this area was a revival broke out. What joy had come to this area. At first they had believed because of the woman’s testimony of what Jesus had told her. We can play a large part in the kingdom of God, just by telling what he has done for us. But then they said we now believe because we have heard him for ourselves. It does come down to each person receiving Christ’s words for themselves. Look at the culmination of the whole story, the pinnacle of the revival in an out of the way place called Sychar . They said: We know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world. Indeed this is the highest of all knowledge and the pinnacle of any revival and the greatest of all joy: I know the Saviour !!!
