If not for the lord. May 11
Except the lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. Psalm 127:1
Where would we be without the divine influence of God upon our lives? No amount of struggle or mans wisdom would be enough to sustain us. Thankfully we have a promise in Hebrews 13 that the lord is our helper. There are times it may feel that God is distant, Unconcerned or even upset with us. The writer of psalm 77 says : has he cast us off forever? Has he forgotten to be gracious toward us? Well, God gives an answer to questions like that. Through the prophet Isaiah he says in chapter 49. Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb, yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. God may correct and refine us by his discipline but as believers in his son Jesus the savior. And as we follow on to be faithful to him. He can never forget or forsake us. Oh thank God!! It is true unless he builds the house, we are laboring in vain. It is also true he has undertaken to build the house of his children. Let’s ask him, today, to help us build our lives.
