Fellowship April 27

That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his son Jesus Christ. And these things we write unto you, that your joy may be Full.

1 John 1:3-4

What it must have been to have seen and heard Jesus, as John says, I was an eye witness. I think the fellowship is what would have been most fulfilling. Yes the crowds and the miracles would have been amazing. But the personal fellowship which means to share, have in common or to participate with. As the evenings came and the crowds disperse. What it must have been for John and the close disciples to gather around a fire in a garden or private place and talk with Jesus. John says I tell you about this fellowship, that your joy may be full. John knew what brings true joy. He felt and experienced it for himself, fellowship with God.

Now John says something interesting, his fellowship is with the Father and his son. Hold on a minute, as John was writing this Jesus had been gone from the earth for years. John knew the secret, which is really not a secret at all . We can still have fellowship with God and his son. Jesus had told John, I go away but when I go I will send the Holy Spirit and he will continually be in you and with you. All it takes for fellowship with God today is Faith and simply giving him a little time. In the garden of Eden, God came walking in the cool of the day to fellowship, talk with , participate in Adam and eves day. You know what , amazingly after all this time he still desires that with you, invite him by giving him some time throughout your day . Sure sometimes in prayer and reading, times are more intense with God but he also desires to participate with us as we work, fulfill our daily responsibilities and activities so give him a moment throughout our days, whisper a prayer or a praise and thanks from time to time. Ask for his council in those decisions and enjoy his company, today and everyday. He is with us always. Praise The Lord.
