Commit our way to him. April 23

Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously. 1Peter 2:23

We talk a lot about faith, obedience, and things like prayer. And rightly so, these are very important in our Christian walk. There is also another important aspect In our Christian faith and that is a committal of ourselves to God. Like an old sailing ship : we need to be on the ocean of Gods will for our lives, raise our sail of faith and commit our way to him. This is great when sailing is smooth and prosperous but just as sure as our weather changes on this earth so will our circumstances and this is for each of us. In these times we should certainly do our best but also just simply commit our way to him. This is not a foolish or reckless abandoning of common sense. God wants us to make wise decisions. However mans wisdom only goes so far. So it is a great comfort to be able to say, lord today I do my best but above that I commit my way to you. Look at the end of our verse. To him that judges right. Just look at Jesus now. So away with worry and striving for ourselves and just simply commit our way to God. Giving him thanks and praise for his gracious help.
