Comfort. March 22
Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. Isaiah 40:1
Sometimes we just need a good dose of comfort. Physically we need comfort. Also spiritually we can sure use a little comfort sometimes. Thankfully God knows this, just listen: Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 2 Corinthians 1:3
The God of all comfort. This doesn’t mean He spoils us all of the time. When God told Isaiah to comfort His people, they had been thru some very hard times. Much of which was their own fault. Nevertheless after Gods correction was fulfilled, He brought comfort to His people. God still brings comfort to us today. Sometimes outward blessings and sometimes an inward work of the Holy Spirit that just brings peace and rest to our weary souls. So Whether we are troubled by an enemy or problem of some type or God himself sometimes has to correct us. Know this He will comfort those who seek Him. He is the God of all comfort and delights in caring for His children. Truly may He comfort you today with all comfort. The greatest comfort in all the world is His presence, near to us.
