Christmas Miracles Dec 18

I started looking to see if I could find a miracle associated with the Christmas story in the bible for every day in December. I quickly realized this wouldn't be hard to do. I don't know if you have ever realized all of the miraculous events surrounding the birth of Jesus, but they are numerous. Let's look at one each day of December.

Christmas Miracle 18: Back to Bethlehem

At that time the roman emperor, Augustus, decreed that a census should be taken throughout the roman empire. (This was the first census taken when Quirinius was governor of Syria.) All returned to their own ancestral towns to register for this census. And because Joseph was a descendant of king David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, Davids ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. He took with him Mary, to whom he was engaged, who was now expecting a child. Luke 2:1-5

Isn't God great at intertwining His will into everyday life. A government edict at a seemingly terrible time, actually fulfilled ancient prophecy of where the Messiah would be born. God knows the time, place and circumstances of all things. This includes our lives today; we can trust him to lead the way.
