Being alone. October 9.
and we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos , there intending to take in Paul : for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot. And when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mytylene.
Its interesting to look on a biblical era map and see these verses play out. They had to sail around a narrow neck of land so Paul decides this would be a great time to get alone with God. So he goes across the neck of land while they sail around it, then pick him up. Giving Paul an opportunity to spend sometime with the Lord. We also need these times once in a while to fellowship with God in quiet. To hear his quiet voice speaking in our hearts. Also to be encouraged by his presence. We even see Jesus in the Gospels getting alone with the Father on many occasions. It is well worth the effort to get up early or take a walk to a quiet place to enjoy our Lord. There he can let us know, what to do in the times we’re living. So take the time, make the effort and be alone with God at times and surely he will meet us there.
