Assurance. Pt 1 June 1

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Acts 2:36

Sometimes even a devoted Christian needs some assurance. The definition of assurance is confidence or certainty in something or someone. Also to have confidence in a promise. Even Paul the apostle a few times in his life had to have reassurance from the lord that all would be well. For instance Acts 18:9-10 Then spake the lord to Paul in the night by a vision, be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace. For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

Paul having been thru riots, persecution and troubles of many kinds, apparently had grown a little afraid or timid and at that moment the lord appeared to him and reassured him that he was with him And that he would be cared for. I pray for us during these times that God through Christ Jesus would assure our hearts also. He does this thru his word , the Holy Spirit and even other people. In times when we are troubled or shaken God means for his word to be a great assurance to our hearts, listen to John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled : ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my fathers house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. Jesus had been teaching the disciples that he was going away and they became troubled at the thought, and were thinking what will happen to us. Even if this world around us crumble Jesus said don’t let your hearts be troubled, good lies ahead for the believers. to be continued.....
