And You Shall Never Fall August 14

Abide in me and I in you...... John 15: 4

(3) Maintain your communion with God. We should live with God each day, sharing thoughts, praying, learning of him thru our bibles, helping in his cause, loving people. The Holy Spirit is the active agent of God upon the earth. He seeks to dwell with us continually in our hearts and minds throughout our day. He is always about keeping us in God. We do something wrong he immediately convicts us to turn from the wrong and ask for God's forgiveness. We do right and he encourages us to continue in that way. He is a guide to God and his will for our lives. We can agree and yield to his leading toward God or we can quench his leadings and go our own way. When we quench his leadings our communion or fellowship with God suffers and this is where we can be in danger of the falling away that the bible speaks so often of. May God himself help keep you in communion with him and may your affection be toward him not this world. I read a little illustration that has been helpful to me. A bird will sometimes sit on a window seal and gaze at himself, amazed by what he sees. Suddenly he may be startled or flushed from his perch by something but give him a moment and he will come back. Well, you and I love God and abide in him, things throughout our day may flush us from our communion but give us a little opportunity and we will be right back to dwelling in God. May the God of heaven keep us from falling.

(1) Live in the moment

(2) Walk in the light

(3) Maintain your communion with God
